Why do I do what I do? I love helping people. I believe that everyone should have the capacity to communicate anything, and facilitating that via two languages gives me a huge buzz. I want your UK customers to be able to engage with your business in their language, feeling comfortable and connected to you, so that you know you're providing them with an absolutely wonderful service. Great communication = great relationships = happy feels.

After I finished my Bachelor's degree in French and Spanish, I travelled the world teaching English. Then I lived in France for a couple of years; first La Plagne, then the Lot department. When I came back to the UK, I worked in craft ale sales for a microbrewery.

After five years I returned to my love of languages, and got a distinction in my Master’s in "Applied Linguistics: translation from French to English". Both my previous careers in teaching English and beer sales help my career as a translator and copywriter. People didn't buy beer just because it was beer: I had to communicate with them, tell the brewery's story, tell the beer's story, gain the customer's trust, and motivate them to act. Likewise with my students: they didn't just learn by rote - I assessed and took on board how they would react to particular teaching methods, whether they would respond to certain materials, and what would be most beneficial for each student.

I also love the mountains, skiing, Pilates, open water swimming, houseplants, Pink Panther, and pretty much every type of cheese. I'm passionate about slow fashion - I ALWAYS buy second hand.

I'm also a huge fan of an unusual food flavour collaboration. See the Marmite with croissant photo 👍
